Medical students and family practice residents can apply for a clinical elective in HIV/AIDS as part of their clinical education and training.
The clinical elective consists of rotations at the John Ruedy Clinic (JRC) at St. Paul’s Hospital. The JRC provides outpatient primary care to HIV positive patients with an interdisciplinary approach.
Trainees will participate in the primary care of HIV patients under the direction of an experienced HIV physician. When available and when appropriate, trainees will also have the opportunity to experience other clinics related to HIV clinical care.
International medical students (in their penultimate or final year), fellows, and physicians may apply for an observership by contacting the Clinical Education Program Coordinator.
These requests will require review and approval by the Elective Supervisor.Observerships are a temporary, unfunded appointment which does not allow direct patient contact.
