This workshop will introduce students to the C# programming language using Visual Studio 2022. This workshop assumes no prior knowledge of C#.
Using 'console' applications within Visual Studio, students will learn key skills and concepts including primitive data and reference types, basic input/output statements, string manipulation, loops and selection, collections (lists and arrays), methods and objects/classes.
Both venues introduced students to fundamental programming concepts and techniques using applications such as Scratch and App Inventor. While these proved very popular with learners, there was a clear demand for workshops which challenged learners.
Introducing them to more syntax-driven coding found in programming languages such as Python, C# and Java. There was a clear direction of travel towards this area of computing coming from CCEA and the Department of Education (NI) at both GCSE and A Level.
The Introduction to Programming with Python short course is taught one evening a week for 10 consecutive weeks in the evening to allow you to study alongside your full-time commitments.
