Each Composition in the Field class begins with a talk with one of our experienced instructors, and then you and your fellow students take a stroll through one of a variety of photogenic locales (in any of the 20+ cities the DPA encapsulates). There is street photography, magnificent interiors, farmers markets, zoos, landscapes, and more, photos of which are included within. These photos are a mix of student and instructor images in many different venues and cities across the United States and Canada.
You will have fun in the three hour session, learn to shoot strategically, get more interesting photos of the event, and walk away with a foundation to improve your photographs in the future, whether you’re traveling, or at a birthday party and everywhere in between.
This section is devoted to the Los Angeles area and the teachers who lead these workshops. Because they are professional photographers who have lived in Los Angeles for 10 years or longer, you benefit.
In this class we’ll look at the best procedures for working on a tripod while setting ISO, Shutter Speed, and Aperture. And we’ll use camera movement as a way to create effects that can’t be seen until they’re created.
You'll learn the tricks to enhance your sharpness, focus, create motion blur shots, freeze motion, use the on-camera flash, take photos at night, and gain basic control over your exposure, as well as the main camera settings and options.
Learn simple techniques for creating great portraits. This course shows how to ?nd and make great light with basic tools, and demonstrates the easiest methods for helping people look their best while remaining comfortable.
This course is your introduction to the skills you need to successfully shoot powerful images in any situation. Students will learn all the controls and functions on their cameras.
Learn how to most effectively use electronic flashes / speedlights to expand your photographic skills.
