Our tutor-led CompTIA A+ course runs over 10 days, with each module taking 5 days, and is aimed at expanding learners’ understanding of the broader IT space. It teaches the skills and understanding needed to work in IT Support, or more technical roles.

We also offer a self-led option for this course, which gives learners access to a learning platform designed to let them pace their own learning. Learners will also receive an exam voucher, which they can use to take the certification exam at a time of their choosing.

What qualification will I get?
On successful completion of the final exam, you’ll receive a CompTIA A+ certification. This certification shows learners have an fundamental understanding of IT and digital infrastructure.

How is the CompTIA A+ course assessed?
Throughout the tutor-led CompTIA A+ course your progress will be assessed by your tutor, who will use those assessments to monitor your learning. There will be a certification exam at the end of the course.

Self-led learners will receive an exam voucher which can be used for an attempt at the certification exam.

What modules will be on the CompTIA A+ course?
There are two core modules in the CompTIA A+ course. These modules cover foundational skills in hardware, software, and operating systems.

 

Core 1 (220 - 1101)
Core 1 of the CompTIA A+ certification focuses on the foundational skills needed to support and manage various IT hardware and networking components. It covers the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of laptops and mobile devices, along with configuring and troubleshooting network connections. Additionally, it covers the installation and troubleshooting of PC components and peripherals.

Core 1 also introduces the basics of setting up virtual machines and understanding cloud service models, diagnosing and resolving common hardware and network issues, and ensures that candidates have the practical skills to handle a wide range of hardware and networking tasks

Core 2 (220 - 1102)
Core 2 of the CompTIA A+ certification emphasises the skills needed to manage and troubleshoot operating systems, ensure security, and follow best operational practices. It includes the installation, configuration, and management of various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile OS, along with command-line tools and system utilities. The core also focuses on implementing security measures to protect devices and networks, understanding threats and vulnerabilities, and using security tools.

Core 2 also involves diagnosing and resolving software, operating system, application and malware, and emphasises best practices for IT operations, including safety, environmental impacts, communication, documentation, change management, and disaster recovery. Learners are taught to effectively manage and secure IT environments, ensuring smooth and secure operations.
