The two-year Consecutive Bachelor of Education program prepares Teacher Candidates in one of two possible divisions of teaching specialization:
Upon successful completion of the requirements for teacher certification in Ontario, a recommendation will be made by the Dean of the Faculty of Education to the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) indicating eligibility for the Ontario Certificate of Qualification.

The Elementary route is a generalist program that prepares graduates with the essential skills, knowledge, and qualities needed to effectively teach students from kindergarten to grade 6.
The Bachelor of Education program is designed for future educators wanting to teach students in a variety of educational institutions, including K to 12 schools.

The Aboriginal Teacher Education Program (ATEP) is a Bachelor of Elementary Education degree (B.Ed.) program within the Faculty of Education at the University of Alberta.
This program prepares students for teaching at various school levels and has a thoroughly articulated grounding in the Principles of Teaching and Learning
