Our intermediate students are working through the levels of the syllabus in Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Contemporary, and have the option of Hip Hop intermediate, or Funk 4. These students are also able to sit exams annually and are also given the opportunity to perform in our end of year show.

Independence contemporary dance classes reflect current professional practices for contemporary dancers in New Zealand. Classes reflect the current teaching approaches, research, choreographic, and /or performance practice of the selected tutor.
As you dance, you move in and out of the floor, run, turn and leap while using your core muscles to maintain control even when you’re off balance!
Contemporary dance helps a dancer to explore the body’s full range of physicality, freedom of movement, and expression.
This class is for participants aged 7 years & over. This beginner class will teach students the basics to the very popular style of contemporary dance. The class will typically involve a warm up, stretch, progressions across the room and dances for students enjoyment.
All syllabi build upon fundamental skills learned in the junior school and develop students' dance capabilities to the next level.
