Contemporary dance is difficult to define because it is a genre, not a technique. It incorporates a collection of methods and techniques found in ballet, modern dance and postmodern dance giving it a unique look.
In this class, you will explore a unique blend of contemporary movement. The class includes an in-depth warm-up, technique, choreography, and improvisation to encourage students to explore their own movement and interpretations.
Our staff teach a blend of various modern styles based on their personal background, drawing from the Canadian Dance Teacher’s Association syllabus, Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabus, Limon, Graham, Horton, Cunningham, Freestyle, Contemporary and Lyrical.
