Contemporary is an interpretative and creative form of dance. The dancers in the contemporary program will explore a variety of dance techniques while developing their own sense of creativity and expression.
This class is a combination of ballet and jazz, utilizing the strength from ballet combined with the expression of jazz to help dancers learn to interpret and express feeling and tell a meaningful story through movement.
Classes range from 45 minutes to 90 minutes. ISTD Modern Exam classes are offered as well.
Contemporary dance is the exploration of the total movement potential of the body.
Ballet based, incorporating multiple dance styles i.e. Lyrical, Jazz, Modern. Can be very abstract.
