Students should wear a bodysuit or fitted shirt and tights,shorts or jazz pants/leggings. No shoes required as you dance barefoot
Introducing Coastal Dance Company - St. John's newest dance studio owned and operated by Melissa Maynard Power and Katie Yetman. Conveniently located on Stavanger Drive! With over 15 years teaching experience in styles such as: Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern/Contemporary, Hip Hop, Pointe and Exam Classes.
We want to give our students the best experience possible. For this reason, we will strive to provide as much exposure to different choreographers through a variety of workshops and performances throughout the dance year. This Beginner Contemporary Class is Pre Recorded and Students Will Have Access To it For Life
This class is a combination of ballet and jazz, utilizing the strength from ballet combined with the expression of jazz to help dancers learn to interpret and express feeling and tell a meaningful story through movement.
Modern is a highly flexible form of dance that lends itself beautifully to the expression of a dancers thoughts and feelings in a way that uniquely represents their individuality.
Contemporary dance combines the strong and controlled legwork of ballet with modern's use of the torso, floor work, fall and recovery, as well as changes in rhythm, speed, and direction.
