Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)

The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 apply to all workplaces and every form of activity involving the use of substances which may be hazardous to the health of people at work.

This level 2 accredited qualification is for anyone who is likely to come into contact with hazardous substances. It gives learners the knowledge to recognise the risks associated with hazardous substances and how to control them.

Qualification details and validity

The Award in the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (England and Wales RQF level 2) qualification has no formal expiry date, but ongoing refresher training is important to ensure that learners stay up to date.

Assessment and certification

• Assessment is ongoing by the instructor, along with a multiple choice question paper.
• The qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria.
• The course consists of five contact hours, including of theoretical and group activities.

Age restrictions and group sizes

• A maximum of 20 students are allowed per instructor, the qualification is available for learners aged 14+.
