Cosmetology

The cosmetology program consists of 1,500 clock hours covering all phases of cosmetology. Skin care, nail technology and pedicures mandated by the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology.

The program is designed to prepare the student to pass the Arizona State Board of Cosmetology licensure exam and to help the student gain the knowledge and skills necessary for an entry-level position in the beauty field.

The license is a requirement to operate as a cosmetologist in the state of Arizona. Approximate number of weeks to complete the program based on hours completed per week.

The cosmetology curriculum consists of 1,500 clock hours of technical instruction and hands-on operations encompassing all practices that constitute the art of cosmetology such as basic instruction in hair cutting, coloring, styling, hair extensions, makeup, and manicure techniques.

For the purposes of this section, technical instruction shall mean instruction by demonstration, reading, class participation, or examination. Practical operation means the actual performance by the student of completed services on another person or dummy.
