We strive to ensure graduates of our cosmetology program are prepared to pass the state board exam for their license and immediately start a successful career.
Our program consists of 1,500 hours divided among three phases and completed in one year. Unlike many hair schools, we have classes starting every six weeks and there are both full-time and part-time options to accommodate your needs!
Coined by a former student, “It’s a Z Thing!” has come to describe the many unique qualities of Z Hair Academy, an institution with four progressive hair schools in the Kansas City area. Since our inception in 2004, we have been dedicated to creating unique learning experiences and ensuring student success.

Comprehensive Education
Z Hair Academy believes education is a life-long process. We begin with the foundational skills to become technically proficient, and then build upon those with advanced techniques to bring out creativity and maximize full potential. Students are exposed to many systems and techniques, providing a more comprehensive educational experience.
The Skin Care Specialist course will train students in skin care, facial treatments, make-up application, and hair removal. Completion of this course prepares students to become a licensed skin care specialist.
Our team of experienced teachers will get you through all the steps of the art of hair, beauty, skin, and nails. We guarantee that our team of Eyelash Extension Tech will guide you from start to end in this journey of beauty.
