Course Details

Develop the knowledge, skills and certification you need to undertake the role of Food Safety Supervisor within a food safety program. This course is suitable for managers, owner-operators or supervisors in food preparation premises.

The course satisfies all legal requirements of compliance for a Food Premises Registration/Operation with local council and Australia’s Safe Food Standards. If you are undertaking this training to qualify as a Food Safety Supervisor, you may need a current qualification in SITXFSA001 for the Hospitality/Retail sector, or HLTFSE001 for Health & Community services. Enquire with your local Environmental Health Department to confirm your training meets their requirements.

How do I gain certification?

To gain certification, you’ll need to complete a self-paced workbook, assessment, and demonstrate the correct implementation and following of Food Safety Plan procedures in the workplace. This may involve one of our trainers visiting your workplace and providing assistance with your Food Safety Program. Our trainers provide ongoing support throughout this process.

What do I receive upon completion?

Upon successful completion, you will receive accreditation in the following industry-specific unit:

 

  • SITXFSA002 - Participate in safe food handling practices

A statement of completion and a statement of attainment is issued upon the successful completion of the course.

All applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to course commencement and will be required to provide a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate. * This requirement does not apply to secondary school students, including VCAL, VCE, Geelong Tertiary Futures Program, Mumgu-dhal tyama-tiyt and school-based apprentices and trainees (SBATs).
