Create Your Own Start Up Business (P00492)

Having a better understanding of the initial processes and requirements of a business start-up can increase the chances of your business succeeding. If you’re looking to start your own business, or already have a business but want to develop and progress your business plan, this qualification will support you with the skills and knowledge you need. 

Are you looking to start your own business? Do you have a new business start-up idea? Over half a million businesses are started every year; however, 30 percent of these fail within the first two years

This qualification is delivered through 4 units to help build your understanding and confidence towards making your business idea a reality.

Unit 1: Initial steps for a business start-up

• The aim of this unit is to help learners understand the initial steps of a business start-up. Learners will understand how to develop business start-up ideas, understand business ownership and work out what resources are required to develop a business start-up.

Unit 2: Marketing for a business start-up

• The aim of this unit is to help learners understand the market their business start-up idea will be positioned in and how to use market research to support the business start-up. Learners will understand how to develop a successful marketing strategy.

Unit 3: Legal and financial considerations for a business start-up

• The aim of this unit is to give learners an understanding of the legal and financial factors that will affect the business start-up.

Unit 4: Developing a business plan

• The aim of this unit is to give learners an understanding of business planning and how to apply their theoretical knowledge to develop a final business plan.

Entry Requirements

• This course is open to anyone with an idea for a start-up business.

Learners must be aged 19 years or over.

Assessment

• This qualification will be assessed fully online – you access all the learning materials and complete and submit your assessments online.
• You will be supported by a personal tutor who you can contact throughout your studies. You will work through a series of tasks and activities to assist in gaining the qualification. There will be written assessments related to the content.
