Swing is a group of related street dances that evolved from Lindy Hop. Swing dance partners consist of a leader and a follower. There are three main forms of Swing: Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing and East Coast Swing.
This class will explore the basics of west coast swing, touching on connection, rhythm, and the most crucial foundations of the dance. Great for beginners and returning dancers.
West Coast Swing (WCS) is the most popular in San Diego. As the official state dance of California, West Coast Swing has a large and thriving social community. Known for the ability to dance to almost any style of music, WCS is the perfect dance for any occasion.
Swing Dance Classes are offered by Conservatory of Dance for all ages and skill level. We have dance trips from Europe to Hawaii, We have social parties to meet others with the same interest and most important, leave the real world at the door and get ready for the time of your life.Â
This class is an introduction to the look and feel of social swing dancing. This course is intended to provide instruction and repetition of the basic 6-count patterns that form the structure of this dance.
