In this course, you will learn various techniques relevant to the sewing of denim, including flat fell and faux flat fell seams, tips for sewing bulky fabrics, top stitching, the application of jeans buttons, and welt pockets (optional).
The classic denim jacket is a wardrobe staple and is almost endlessly versatile. It can be worn with dresses, skirts, pants and even jeans (double denim is not the fashion crime that it used to be!). Whether you choose traditional denim or something more colourful, you will have a garment that will serve you for years to come.
In this course, you will learn various techniques relevant to the sewing of denim, including flat fell and faux flat fell seams, tips for sewing bulky fabrics, top stitching, the application of jeans buttons, and welt pockets (optional). The Atenas jacket has additional features (such as a collar and welt pockets) and will take longer to make than the Poas jacket. Depending on which jacket and embellishments you choose, there may be some homework to complete between classes.
