Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that is taking the beauty industry by storm. The treatment consists of using a scalpel to remove the upper layers of the skin to reveal a smoother and brighter complexion.
The scalpel finely exfoliates dead skin cells whilst also removing the fine superficial vellus hair from the face, commonly known as “peach fuzz.” The treatment will produce a brighter and more youthful glow to the client’s skin, leaving a healthy glowing complexion.
The treatment allows skincare products to be absorbed more easily. With this repeated procedure it will leave your clients skin appearance noticeably different from day to day. Clients also find that their makeup sits smoother on their skin following the removal of “peach fuzz”.

The treatment involves using a surgical scalpel to finely exfoliate the top layers of skin (keratinized cells). The treatment is performed on freshly cleansed and dry skin.
The scalpel is then positioned at a precise angle and the skin is pulled taut to avoid the scalpel pulling and damaging the skin. The scalpel is then lightly worked across the face, avoiding the nose area, working in sections to reveal a more youthful complexion.
SPF is then applied to the skin after the treatment as the skin will be hypersensitive to UV rays.
The treatment can be performed on almost all skin types except those with acneic skin. As the treatment avoids all harsh chemicals it is a brilliant alternative to those with sensitive skin, however, Dermaplaning with the correct training can also be used in combination with other treatments.
We take it in our interest of advising the correct aftercare knowledge and understanding the damaging effects of completing the wrong procedures after the Dermaplaning.
