The Builder Training Centre (The BTC) offers a high quality structured Foundation Electrical Course, which can be attended as a weekday course (usually Monday and Tuesday) or, for those that have commitments during the week, a weekend course (Saturday and Sunday).
Our instructors are qualified, highly experienced, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Tradespersons, so students can take advantage of all the tips of the trade, personal experiences and advice they offer.
Our short courses are intensive, but the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable which creates a good learning environment. If you have a particular project in mind, or some building plans you wish to gain advice on, our instructors will be more than happy to discuss these with you.

It is ideally suited to those people looking for DIY purposes, or those looking to progress on to the 2 day Electrical Inspection and Testing course. It covers practical skills from applying Ohms Law and calculating correct fuse ratings to installing and testing circuits.
The Builder Training Centre opened in 2003 to address the shortage of Construction Courses for those in the building trade and for those trying to get into it, and anyone looking for Practical DIY Courses for beginners.
The Centre opened offering Short Intensive Practical Hands-on Courses, then in 2005, expanded the Electrical Centre with the introduction of Electrical Qualifications by becoming an EAL Approved Centre (approval number L1944EW).
In 2007 we expanded the department again by offering City & Guilds Electrical Qualifications (approval number 007253). All our Electrical Courses are run from our second centre (a very short walk away) in Stafford Road. In 2014, we also became a preferred supplier for the MOD (approved provider no 4107).
