This workshop-formatted course is designed to make filmmaking accessible, through use of everyday equipment, including smartphones.
Students will explore the fundamentals of the art and craft of film production through hands-on moviemaking exercises and the team execution of a short film project.
The course will drive creativity and ingenuity, as the focus will be on making films quickly with whatever resources are available.
Participants will use both classroom work and field trips to explore the creative process of taking an initial idea to a finished product, including character development, dialogue and storyboarding, scene structure and the elements of a production team.
Students will also discuss the business of working in the film and television industry.
