This course is ideal for beginners who would like to learn drawing and painting techniques. Each evening will begin with short demonstrations and fun exercises with time later to work on a set task or develop a drawing or painting.
The aim is to become more confident in handling the materials and experimenting with new techniques.
What will I learn?
Introduction to line drawing and observational skills
Introducing shading to create three dimensional effects
Looking at other types of mark making and introduction to portraiture
Introduction to watercolours and a variety of experimental techniques
Watercolours continued, colour mixing and more controlled techniques
Looking at composition, how to create focal points and balance
Creating individual artworks with support from your tutor
Develop previously learned techniques further or try something new.

This day provides a solid grounding in the principles of drawing. Students will learn the basics of drawing and composing, including how to create sketch perspectives, assume scale and introduce texture and tone into their illustrations.
The need for greater drawing skills in those entering employment has been identified by a range of industries in the creative sector including; animation, film, architecture, art practice, design and communication industries.
Our Watercolour Painting Classes are suitable for all levels; learn the techniques before putting them into practice to produce your own vibrant watercolours.
We offer term time weekday morning & evening courses & weekend courses for beginner, intermediate and advanced students.
Join professional illustrator Katy Dynes to hone and develop your drawing and illustration skills. You'll develop characters, scenarios and stories, and learn how book illustration works.
