Art and Soul offers individual and group classes in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. My passion is to share my love for creativity, to inspire people to see things from a different perspective, and to connect with others.
My Story
From an early age creating art has been a wonderful outlet, a way of escaping reality and getting lost in time.
Along my journey I’ve had fantastic teachers who given me profound insights; they have taught me to look at life from a different perspective, and to see how everything is connected.
I have been very fortunate to be able to have a varied career doing what I love, including;
Graphic artist in advertising agencies and newspapers
Dabbled in screen printing, sign writing and ticket writing
Owned and designed “Up the Garden Path Café and Gallery” in Motueka
Studio in Nelson – Sold commissioned artwork both nationally and internationally, had exhibitions and tutored students
Gain pencil drawing skills and shading techniques with local artist Maxine Thompson. Bring what you have, materials are available for purchase on the day.
Classical Drawing course is offered by Tahan Art Studio. Tahan Art provide quality fine art classes, with a traditional approach for beginners to advanced level students.
Life Drawing sessions are an opportunity to practise drawing a life model. These sessions are separate to Vincents’ General Studio hours. Drawing boards and easels are provided but please bring your own paper and drawing materials.
This course combines drawing and modern watercolour techniques to develop creative processes for your own art projects. You will learn foundation techniques like composition, perspective, and colour mixing to create successful watercolour paintings.
These painting workshops are suitable for complete beginners through to experienced painters. The workshops are based on you expressing yourself through painting and learning techniques at the same time. Techniques (one per workshop) will be taught.
