The Multnomah Arts Center (MAC) provides excellent arts education in the visual and performing arts at an affordable cost to students of all ages.
We offer programs in music, movement, dance, theater, woodshop, literary arts, conditioning, metal arts, mixed media, printmaking, drawing, painting, photography, ceramics, sculpture, textiles, and more.
Programs run year-round, and scholarships are available.
Along with our vibrant arts education program, MAC hosts theatre, music & dance performances, gallery exhibitions, and other special events.
We believe that no matter what their area of emphasis, every emerging artist needs a strong foundation in Drawing and Painting. It is a learned skill that relies heavily upon on hand-eye coordination and which is an ability that, in time, can be mastered by just about everyone.
Anyone can draw! Develop fundamental drawing skills and techniques to kick-start or advance your artistic journey. Weekly step-by-step exercises will build your confidence in drawing the world around you.
In Painting class students will learn to master various painting techniques to create stunning textures and forms. They will learn skills such as dry brush, blending, layering, paint sketching, wet painting, layering, patience, and proportions.
Looking for a painting class that’s fun and easy, step-by-step, and designed for absolute and complete beginners?  Our online painting classes are interactive learning experiences. They’re fun, easy and informative.
It’s time to get creative and have some artsy fun!! Come relax and enjoy some traditional seasonal fun creating this Polar Bear in the snow on a 16×20 large canvas. The canvases are pre-drawn for you and paint colors can be customized as always.
