Are you looking to learn how to sew and make your own clothes? Then our 4 weeks Dressmaking Course is the right opportunity for you! This intensive short course is designed to give you knowledge of dressmaking, and the skills to make, alter, and fix clothes.
Whatever level of sewing you have; we are here to help you to reach your clothing-making goals. Our teaching method follows your interest, we pack the necessary knowledge into your project to execute your personal learning plan.
If you are a beginner, we will teach you how to select the right pattern for you and help step by step build your project practically in the studio. For example, how to follow a paper pattern, how to lay, cut, and prepare the fabric, how to use a sewing machine, how to sew and fit the dress and how to make a buttonhole/zip/waistband according to your project.
If you are a beginner, no previous knowledge is required, we will teach you all you need to know. We would advise you however to have a sewing machine available for the duration of the course to make sure you can practice at home between the 4 course sessions.
This short course can be adapted to any level of sewing skill; if you are an advanced seamstress or simply want to learn more sustainable ways of altering and adjusting your clothes from a pattern alteration perspective.
These mixed classes prove that you will learn three times more by following your classmates' projects. In order to keep the class focused on everyone’s personal needs, we are only taking on 4 students. We have a welcoming and friendly community to serve everyone's needs and support each other in the studio.
