The class is small and allows your tutor plenty of time to give advice and show techniques that will help you gain a successful result. Choose a pattern according to your previous abilities, bare in mind this is a short course of only 12 hours so simple dresses, tops and bottoms would be best.
Skill level- If you know how to use a sewing machine and have completed small craft projects and simple dressmaking you will be at a skill level to partake in this course. Please bare in mind your ability when choosing your pattern. As with all projects some take longer than others so you may wish to finish off at home.
Aims Of The Course:
obbin Sewing School was set up by two ladies with passions for craft in Winchester at the beginning of 2012. It has gently evolved and in 2014 was taken over by Alison Warner who is keen to keep the same friendly format that is key to the Bobbin image.
Patchwork & Quilting classes are offered by New Forest Fabrics for all skill level. We have 6 sewing machines for hire.  If you wish to reserve one, please confirm when booking.  The charge is £5 per class.  You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer.
This is an opportunity to for absolute beginners and those who lack confidence with a sewing machine to learn basic skills. Basic skills that can be used in most sewing projects.
This beautiful sewing pattern has proved incredibly popular with the sewing community and we know you will love making and wearing your own version. We’re teaching this course in October, just as the weather will start to cool down, so you can style your new coat throughout Winter!
Wet felting creates a background of wool. Dry Felting is the craft of using barbed needles to matt wool into pictures and creative shapes. Embellishing with stitch, making felted vessels and beads can all be covered in this whole day of colour and creation.
The course consists of 5 units, each of which takes you through all the great functions step by step, building your knowledge of the software and guiding you through every stage, building your confidence to try new things.Â
