Course Details

The ECG remains one of the most useful initial investigations and whilst acquisition is easy, interpretation requires skill and understanding.

Held at the ECS Postgraduate Education Centre in Hampshire, near Southampton, candidates will initially be taken through topics such as heart anatomy and function, disease processes and how these are reflected on the ECG. Providing a standardised approach, this course is designed to give clinicians a robust method of interpreting all ECGs which will then be applied to more complex pathologies and findings.

The course will explore normal variants such as paediatric and age related changes, expand knowledge on both tachy and brady-arrhythmias, and look at more subtle signs of ischemia.

We will consider axis interpretation and dig into key life-threatening syndromes such as Brugada, WPW, Wellen's and more. The course will also give clinical grounding to the ECG to ensure clinicians take away direct practical understanding.

Who is this course for?

The ECG Recognition course is specifically designed for those interpreting emergent ECG's such as:

  • Paramedics

  • Ambulance Technicians / EMTs

  • Junior Doctors

  • Nurses seeing the acutely unwell patient

  • Event medical providers

  • Southampton Branch

    Adanac Drive, Southampton
