The City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation will equip students with a deeper understanding of electrical science and how this applies to electrical installations and wiring systems. The programme is delivered over the course of one year (full-time) and teaching is spread across three days in college. This qualification is a mix of theory and practical-based studies, and you will learn the theory behind electrical installation through a combination of practical demonstrations and tutorials.
On top of your time spent in college you will also be required to undertake independent study, as well as working towards the required GCSE/Functional Skill qualifications if you do not already hold these.
Prospective students should note that if you're overall aim is to become a qualified electrician, this qualification alone will make you a competent electrician for work in the industry. In order to pursue a professional career in electrical installation you must complete additional qualifications.
