General Programmes teach everyday English and preparation skills for advanced levels including vocabulary building and techniques to learn English easily. Students will usually study for 10 weeks at each level. The programme is approved by NZQA for international students.
ETC is Palmerston North’s largest English language school. The spacious campus has 15 classrooms, 3 computer suites with free internet access, 2 student lounges, a student library and 2 kitchens equipped with cooking facilities and free tea and coffee.
The recreation space offers table tennis and a pool table. Balconies overlooking an inner city park and the main shopping and restaurant district are great for relaxing with classmates and have outdoor furniture so students can relax and socialise outside of class time.
ETC Palmerston North is one of a few internationally selected Pre IELTS Testing Centres where students are able to trial IELTS reading and listening tests without any cost. The ETC student card gives free access to public transport around Palmerston North.
We offer a short 40 hour IELTS exam preparation course, available to domestic and international students.
The full-time course includes more reading and writing as well as a range of options such as Grammar, Preparation for IELTS, English for Business, Vocabulary and Conversation. You can change your option regularly.
This course focuses on common language interaction in business, such as telephoning, writing business letters, meetings, and giving presentations. There is a strong focus on spoken skills and grammar, as well as an emphasis on formal writing and business-related vocabulary.
