By completion of this course, successful students will be able to:
Formulate a financial vision for a start-up or small to medium-sized enterprise
Identify financial limitations and how to mitigate financial risk
Estimate new venture start-up costs and project a sales forecast
Explain how cash is the lifeblood of a business, not profit
Create a cash flow projection and a proforma income statement
Use ratios to measure the financial health of a business
Describe the credit position of the business
Recognize funding sources available for start-ups and small businesses
Determine the types of financing and which are best suited to a particular type of business
Distinguish between the pros and cons of debt vs. equity
