Healthy, even, glowing skin that reflects a picture of health and vitality – that’s what the majority of our clients are hoping to achieve.

Optimum skin health can be impacted by a number of common skin complications, including dehydration, fine lines, visible pores and rough, uneven texture. Microdermabrasion is an excellent clinical treatment that gently and gradually addresses all of these concerns by utilising abrasive exfoliation.

How Does Microdermabrasion Work?

Using crystals propelled onto the skin by air pressure, microdermabrasion removes up to 30% of the upper layers of skin. The exfoliating action instantly reveals a smoother skin texture which is more receptive to the penetration of active ingredients applied throughout a treatment and in-home care, improving their efficacy.

The used crystals, along with the removed skin cells, are lifted off the skin’s surface via vacuum pressure. In conjunction with the exfoliative crystals, vacuum pressure improves circulation, stimulating the skin’s repair mechanisms to increase production of collagen fibres.

This leads to a more thickened dermis. The upper layers of the epidermis are more refined, reinforcing the skin’s barrier function and revealing a healthier skin. Improvements seen after a series of microdermabrasion treatments include:

  • Increased skin suppleness and softness

  • Improved hydration

  • Less obvious pores

  • Reduction in congestion, assisting in a reduction of breakouts

  • Reduction in fine lines

  • Improved barrier function for better environmental protection, and

  • More even skin tone.
