Sculpture & Animation workshop is offered by Workshop 305 for all skill level. The workshops are not restricted by age or by ability but are made up of a mix of people all interested in working in that particular area.
Metal has many unique qualities - its attributes of strength, delicacy, malleability and toughness have led to its use across many art and design disciplines. On this course, you’ll be introduced to different metals and the techniques used to work them into sculptural pieces.
Clay is such a versatile medium to work in. It can be used in many different ways to give a range of tactile and practical experiences - we use soft or 'leather hard' clay for modelling and hand-building and wet, slippery clay for throwing on the potters wheel .
Ideal for beginners looking to develop their skills, this course will cover: clay preparation, wedging techniques, centring clay on the wheel, throwing basic cylinders and moving on to different forms including- pinching, coiling, slabbing, creative use of moulds.
