Fall Protection

Course Description

This course covers OSHA Fall Protection Standards for Construction and provides an overview of fall protection methods. Course topics include principles of fall protection, components and limitations of fall arrest systems, and OSHA Standards and policies regarding fall protection.

Upon course completion students will have the ability to assess compliance with the OSHA Fall Protection Standard, evaluate installed passive systems, fall arrest systems, and develop and implement fall protection plans. Students will participate in workshops that demonstrate the inspection and use of fall protection equipment, training requirements, and developing a fall protection program.

Individuals responsible for overseeing safety in industries such as: Construction, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Maritime and General Industry.

• Identify appropriate OSHA standards applicable to the workplace
• Identify the most common fall hazards found in construction
• Describe OSHA standards in 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M
• Identify appropriate ANZI standards related to fall protection
• Identify abatement methods for common fall arrest hazards
• Develop required OSHA fall protection programs.
