Class Experience
Welcome To Thimble Bee’sa
Teaching children (adults too!) the basics of sewing in a creative, encouraging, and fun atmosphere!
I started Thimble Bee’s in 2009 to share my love and joy for sewing with the next generation. I’m so blessed to have met so many families in the Charlotte area and I’m glad you’re here. I hope you find Thimble Bee’s a comfortable place to learn, be encouraged, and grow in your skill every day.
I have always love sewing. I fell in love with it when I was fourteen and haven’t let up with my obsession since. I’ve been teaching for thirteen years. I started with a small group of girls teaching from the bonus room of my home in Waxhaw. Word spread and we opened the storefront off Providence in 2014. I’m so blessed to have met so many wonderful families in the Charlotte area and I’m so glad you’re here! I hope you find Thimble Bee’s a comfortable place to learn, be encouraged, and grow in your skill every day.
When I’m not at the studio I stay busy taking care of my family. We have three children: Hannah, Luke, and Kate. They are my greatest pride and joy! Hannah just took off to Indiana for her first semester in college. Luke is in ninth grade and enjoys cross country and working at the local pizza place. Kate is in fifth grade and enjoys sewing and spending time with her family.
In this 8-week draping class, students will learn to create clothing patterns on a dress form through draping. Once the draping patterns have been completed, students will continue onto the next 8 week course to cut and sew their garments in Part TWO, THREE and FOUR.
Sit and Sew for 1.00 this Saturday. Â Make some new friends, talk and laugh for a while. 10am to 1 pm.
Bernina Basics Guide Class is designed to provide Bernina owners with the fundamental skills required to use and maintain their sewing machine.
Learn to knit and purl and complete this great Cowl out of Malabrigo Rasta
Each class will build on the next, starting with the smallest embroidery patterns. All embroidery machines are welcome but some of the larger designs will be too big for the smaller machines
