Welcome To Thimble Bee’sa
Teaching children (adults too!) the basics of sewing in a creative, encouraging, and fun atmosphere!
I started Thimble Bee’s in 2009 to share my love and joy for sewing with the next generation. I’m so blessed to have met so many families in the Charlotte area and I’m glad you’re here. I hope you find Thimble Bee’s a comfortable place to learn, be encouraged, and grow in your skill every day.
I have always love sewing. I fell in love with it when I was fourteen and haven’t let up with my obsession since. I’ve been teaching for thirteen years. I started with a small group of girls teaching from the bonus room of my home in Waxhaw. Word spread and we opened the storefront off Providence in 2014. I’m so blessed to have met so many wonderful families in the Charlotte area and I’m so glad you’re here! I hope you find Thimble Bee’s a comfortable place to learn, be encouraged, and grow in your skill every day.
When I’m not at the studio I stay busy taking care of my family. We have three children: Hannah, Luke, and Kate. They are my greatest pride and joy! Hannah just took off to Indiana for her first semester in college. Luke is in ninth grade and enjoys cross country and working at the local pizza place. Kate is in fifth grade and enjoys sewing and spending time with her family.
A compressed version of our popular online course, this workshop is a one-day bag making bootcamp! Cover the basics with Sewing Machine 101 and then you're off to the races making your first two bags: the Portsmith Tote and Woodland Dopp Kit. All materials are included. No prior experience required...
Learn basic sewing skills, clothing construction, pattern-making, how to maintenance your sewing machine and much more! Call or email to arrange a lesson a time. Private lessons are offered on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
All ages will learn about sewing while making special projects. Each child will work on a sewing project for their skill level. Sewers will learn machine threading and maintenance, pattern making and creative problem solving. Some projects include hand embroidery and other needlework.
These private lessons are your opportunity to pick Lindsey's brain and get ANY question answered or technique explained in a one-on-one environment.
Create, design and sew a half apron - perfect for families who love to cook and bake!
