Finishing Carpentry is the art of making a house a home. In this course we teach the student the different types of doors available on the market as well as the standards.
We hang a hollow core door on both a steel and wooden frame. We practice the hanging of a stable, arch, and a pivot door. We make and install skirting, plinth blocks, dado rails and cornice on a model. We do training on the relevant power tools to speed up the actual hanging of doors.
We are a Power tool and Woodwork Training Academy that focus on the art of Woodwork. Training is conducted by my Myself, we are a registered South African Closed Corporation.
We are Based on a small Holding based in Lanseria!
It prepares students to either go on a learnership, or to be skilled enough to seek entry level employment in the woodwork and cabinetry industry. The theory and practical projects prepare students to become employees as well as equip them to become self-employed.
Carpentry course is offered by EASTC, a practical training college. Our programmes are developed to equip the person with essential skills in a workshop environment over a short period of time.
Our dedication to quality service delivery and our national footprint has resulted in the Fibre Processing and Manufacturing Sector Education and Training Authority (FP & M SETA) recognizing Furntech as the Institute of Sectoral and Occupational Excellence for the industry.
The course has 15 lessons of up to 2 hours each, divided up into three levels of five lessons each. When the course has been completed, students wh had no prior (or very little) woodwork knowledge are able to start doing simple woodwork projects on their own.
