NYST’s First aid, CPR, and AED course teaches students to respond to a number of first aid emergencies, such as burns, cuts, scrapes, falls, sudden illnesses, head and back injuries, asphyxiation and heat and cold injuries.

Students practice treating breathing and cardiac emergencies. Students learn to treat such conditions and to assist in life-saving actions until the arrival of emergency personnel. Upon completion of the First Aid, CPR, AED course, participants earn a Red Cross certificate valid for two years.

This course teaches participants to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial information on how to deal with emergencies like bleeding, shock, burns, strains, fractures, allergic reaction, diabetic and seizures is shared.
At the end of the first aid course, participants will have their skills tested with hands-on scenarios. There will also be a written exam to confirm the student’s proficiency with the course knowledge.
While Omega Safety Training offers Adult First Aid and Adult CPR AED each as stand-alone classes, it is much more common to prepare lay personnel to educate providers for both life-saving skill sets using the combined Adult First Aid | Adult CPR AED course.
