Whangarei Youth Music is a self funding, family orientated organisation created in 1980 to provide opportunities for the young people of Whangarei and surrounding areas to develop their musical skills and to experience the enjoyment of playing music together.
Our organisation is run by dedicated volunteers who manage and organise our groups to achieve excellence in public events and concerts. We invite you to participate in Whangarei Youth Music either as a volunteer or as a budding musician and see how you too can increase your love of music.
You usually need to be 9 – 10 years old to play flute, because they are quite long and may become heavy for a small child.
Learning through CSM means that students will have the unique opportunity to try the piccolo, alto flute and bass flute.
Our free beginner classes for flute allow our students to learn in a small group at no charge. This is a great introductory music class enabling children to trial flute.
Founded in 2006, we are the largest music academies in Auckland, with several branches throughout the city. With our programs varying from private lessons for all instruments to group piano and guitar classes.
The junior flute (fife) is half the size of a flute, and therefore manageable by younger children.
