ROI Safety Services provides a classroom style presentation followed by our Training consultant leads the hands-on exercises. Training includes operating hazards, stability triangle, combined actions, pre-operation inspection, nameplates, operating a lift truck, tipping, loading/unloading, traveling, ramps and railroad tracks, docks, parking, unattended fork trucks, and propane refueling. Our on-site training is typically 2 hours long, but can vary depending on your specific training needs.

Prior to our training, we ask that employers ensure the prospective operators have reviewed all pertinent information found in the specific operators manual, instruction on the equipment controls and have been provided supervised practice on the forklift.

This training is collaborative. In order to provide the best training your team needs to understand the equipment and how it operates. After this training, your team should know how to work around the equipment safely, be responsible for the equipment itself, and understand what habits operators need to develop and maintain in order for safe operation to continue.

Our Forklift Safety Training Covers:

  •   OSHA’s Forklift & Lift Truck Requirements
  •   Fundamentals of Safe Operating
  •   Characteristics of Lift Trucks
  •   Operator Responsibility
  •   Operating Environments
  •   Data Plates
  •   Load Centers
  •   Brake Systems
  •   Battery & Propane Safety
  •   Pre-Shift Inspection
  •   Written & Driving Tests

Forklift Training Facts

Anyone operating a forklift must be trained and certified in accordance with OSHA’s training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.178. Licenses must be renewed every three years. The penalty for operating a forklift without a valid certification begin at $7,000 and can go as high as $70,000.

It is estimated that every year there are up to 100,000 injuries involving forklifts in the United States, with as many as one hundred people losing their lives. Forklift Training is critical for the safety of your employees and your company.

The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requires employers to provide employees who drive powered industrial trucks proper training in the operation of the vehicles to prevent accidents and injuries.  OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178(I) requires that employees go through training on vehicle inspections, maintenance, and vehicle operation.
