The Embroidery course is designed to enable participants to learn the techniques of stapling, embroidery and stitching, in addition to learning the basics of ornamentation used in fashion design, the processes of application and stapling on the loom and the use of different threads.
We’ll teach you how to use an embroidery foot and hoop to 'draw' with stitches on your sewing machine and create embroidered works of art. Then decorate a calico bag and transfer your design with the help of textile artist Michelle Barnard.
In this class you'll use some of the basic stitches you learnt in the beginners class and see how to enhance your work further, with the use of mixed media, such as paint, natural materials and 3D elements.
