Unfortunately, we are unable to cater for children younger than years 11 & 12 at high school. Most new students start in term 1 at the beginning of the year however students with some previous French experience can start in terms 2-4.
Generally, we discourage students starting after term 1 however you’re welcome to email or call us to discuss your particular needs.
Students with little or no previous French experience are strongly recommended to start in the Beginners class at the start of term 1 as it can be very difficult to join this class later in the year.
We also provide several non-class activities throughout the year such as our French Film Festival, Bastille Day and Christmas Luncheon, regular coffee club meetings, and other French-themed events.
Our French classes are at 4 levels from beginners to advanced including a Travellers French class for beginners. To find out more about the standards of each level.
It’s up to you as to which class you attend and you can move up or down a class level at any time if you find the class too easy or too challenging.
If you aren’t sure you want to commit to classes you’re welcome to attend your first class free without obligation.
Just let us know prior so we can advise our teachers that you’re coming along, and of course, if you do decide to join us you’ll need to become an AF member and complete your enrolment.
Our classes are either on Monday or Wednesday evenings and run between 1-2 hours depending on the class. We teach for 4 terms a year generally aligned with the NSW school year and a term is usually 8 weeks (classes).
