Course Information

Bonjour! If you are ready to learn French you've just found the perfect place to start. Our enthusiastic teachers will introduce you to this beautiful language and get you speaking French phrases in no time! Our classes are engaging and fun, with a friendly atmosphere, designed to help you feel confident and learn quickly.

So if you don't know any French at all or if you know a few words or phrases and are keen to learn more, French Level 1 is the course for you. It will give you the confidence to communicate with anyone proficient in French on a basic skill level, starting with useful key phrases and vocabulary to get you speaking from the very first lesson.

We concentrate on practical basic conversation skills, which are very helpful for common travelling scenarios. Plus, you'll also get an introduction to grammar and French related cultural topics. 

This course covers a wide range of subjects including greetings, basic conversational expressions, numbers, the time, ordering food and drinks, transport and accommodation, asking for directions, the body and clothing to name just a few.

You'll also be invited to attend events where you can meet native French speakers to further practise your new language skills and exchange cultural information. These events include cooking and dance classes, film festivals, art exhibitions, visits to restaurants and much more.

  • Born to a French mother and Australian father, Laura resided in both countries, becoming fluent In the French and English languages from a very young age. After a year spent in Mexico on a Rotary exchange program, she undertook a degree in Applied Foreign Languages in Montpellier, France, majoring in French, Spanish and English. She then lived in Paris for 6 years. Laura has since worked as a translator and a language teacher. She has taught adults and children, privately and in group settings. Laura is keen to share with her students her passion, knowledge and experience of the French culture and language.
