If you studied French in school as a child but can now only understand the French ingredients on cereal boxes, you're not alone! Here's your chance to go back to our other official language, this time to learn it efficiently and effectively, right from the beginning.

If you already know some French, we will place you in a class at the right level so that you can make fast progress to proficiency. French is spoken by over 200 million people and is the second most widely learned foreign language.

Learning French opens up many work opportunities, as you will see if you go to a Canadian job search engine and enter "French" as a keyword. French is also an excellent base if you go on to learn other languages derived from Latin, such as Spanish, Portuguese or Italian.

 

Upon completion of Hansa's level 1 French course, students will be able to:

Hansa's Level 1 French course is designed to give students a strong foundation in the French Language and covers units 1 to 29 of Grammaire Progressive du Français. Students learn the basic pronunciation of French and become familiar with greetings, numbers, days of the week, time, and other daily-use vocabulary.

They will also learn to describe places, people and objects. Grammar covered includes masculine and feminine words, singular and plural, avoir and être, negation, -er­verbs, articles, il y a, questions, possessive pronouns, and demonstrative forms.
