General English classes focus on the language skills of speaking, listening and reading. Writing skills are integrated into the conversation and reading classes. All language programs at LCI also include a cultural component to help you practice your English, experience the local culture and adapt to life in the USA.
All of our classes are small so each student can get as much attention as possible. You may also choose to complement your group classes with additional private instruction focused on your individual needs.

LCI Guarantee
LCI is so sure you will make progress that we guarantee it. If your English does not improve at the rate that we expect based on your initial test, LCI will provide the additional support and classes you need to reach your target level at no extra charge. Of course you need to attend all your regular classes, do all of your assigned homework and participate fully in all your classes.
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is recognized by more than 10,000 institutions in over 140 countries. Thousands of universities accept the IELTS as proof of English proficiency as an admissions requirement.
English skill level students want to have when they leave, and the speed at which they progress through the program. Students who successfully achieve IAE’s learning objectives are entitled to receive a “Certificate of Participation” when they leave IAE.
This program is composed of listening/speaking, reading/vocabulary, and grammar/writing classes. The ESL program is ideal for students who want to improve their general English skills.
The IELP is part of Portland State University, a community-oriented urban university with a diverse student and teacher population. The IELP offers you full immersion and integration into PSU while you improve your English skills.
The TOEFL iBT program provides intensive English instruction and orientation for international students planning to attend American colleges and universities, as well as individuals pursuing professional training in the U.S.
