We offer classes for all levels in Tuart College and online. We can also offer custom-tailored solutions for small groups and individual tuition. Internationally recognised language exams are available to whose who are interested.
Location
Tuart College, 105 Banksia Street, Tuart Hill WA 6060. We are in A block on the ground floor and our classrooms are A21-A23. Please park at Hodgson Street. The gate will be open on this side of the building. Walk across the small courtyard and you found us.
Duration of courses
Our courses run for a total of 18 weeks with a break in the middle. Semester 1 runs from February to June and Semester 2 starts in July and finishes early December.
Originally a branch of the Australian Goethe Society, the Goethe Society WA (formerly Western Australian Branch of the Australian Goethe Society) is a not-for-profit organisation that was formed in 1949 with the aim of promoting German language and culture in Perth.
Alongside German classes, the society offers monthly cultural events which help to promote the German language and culture in Perth. There are around 35,000 German-speaking immigrants in Perth and they form part of the audience at our events.
We offer: - Children's classes - ages 5 to WACE students. - Adults' classes - at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. - Cultural events - such as public lectures, theatre performances, film nights, concerts, readings, discussion groups and lots more!
Internationally accredited German exams if you need to get your German skills formally recognised for work or study in Germany. - A German-language library on campus at the University of Western Australia.
This course aims to build general basic comprehension and communication skills in beginners German and an introduction to cultural practices, with a focus on clear explanation of basic language principles.
The course is best suited to participants who have as a minimum Year 12 level German language skills. The program uses a variety of course materials, supplemented by authentic texts including songs as well as information on current affairs. Emphasis is placed on the development of reading.
