At The Get Down, we get funky, we get loose, and most importantly, we get down! We are home to freestylers and street dancers alike with a focus on hip hop, funk, afro and Latin street styles. We live by the motto that dance is a tool to build relationships.
With this motto, our goal is to nurture the inner dancer and to provide a safe space where individuals can build and grow their artistic expression. Every style taught at our studio is one that owners, Ceech, Brian and Jeannette all love to dance.
Naturally, with this love for dance, we want to share our passion with everyone around us. Ultimately, we aim to make a positive impact in the community and to keep the social dance scene alive.
Hip Hop is a grounded, street style form of dance usually performed to hip hop music, or music which emphasizes clear rhythms, beats and/or lyrics.
Students ages 7 and up are invited to join our fun, high-energy Hip-Hop class. Age appropriate movement and music are used in this fast-paced class. With its roots in street jazz, pop and lock, commercial, and pedestrian styles, Hip Hop is a constantly evolving form of dance.
This class focuses on various hip-hop techniques including popping, locking, and house elements. Students have opportunities to work on their own freestyle abilities. This class builds strength, stamina, and style through contemporary hip-hop movement.
Dancers interested in being a part of the CDA Crew must also be taking a CDA hip hop class.
Hip Hop Dance Class is offered by Uptown Dance Center. Our mission at Uptown is to provide students of all levels with more than just dance classes, but a unique experience in which the student can grow both mentally and physically as a dancer.
