House of Chords is proud to offer a variety of private music lessons and workshops.

Classes are offered in all styles and genres and are available in both half-an-hour and one hour private lessons.

Our guitar lessons are tailored to each individual student's wants and needs. Marijn Companjen (Manny) provides an inspiring learning environment that encourages students to pursue their studies in music.

  • Marijn Companjen (Manny) moved to Canada in 2005 from The Netherlands, studied music at the Conservatory of Enschede in The Netherlands as well as Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada where he obtained a B.A. in Performance in classical guitar. Manny toured and accompanied dancing classes throughout Holland, Belgium and Germany in the 90’s and early 2000’s and has been teaching in St John’s for over a decade. A member of Isla Son Latin Ensemble, he also performs as a soloist and in various group settings featuring music genres such as Classical, Flamenco, Cuban and Jazz. Manny is a Registered Music Teacher with The Royal Conservatory as well as the Newfoundland and Labrador's Music Teachers Association.
