Children are taught different guitar techniques including strumming and chords as well as how to read tab and from a musical stave. Children also learn aural skills, including playing by ear, simple improvisation and ensemble and performance skills. For pupils who wish to do so, there is the option to sit exams through ABRSM. Trial lessons available on request.
Award-winning Glasgow Children’s Music School is based in the West End of Glasgow, Cathcart and Milngavie. All of our full time bass guitar courses cover the key areas of technical skill associated with playing the bass, such as use of the fingerboard, applied fingerboard harmony, time and groove, slap and dead note finger funk, walking bass, soloing, harmonics etc.
You’ll learn both how to improve rhythmically and technically – you’ll also learn multiple skills and see how you could fit within the music industry.
