Beginner to advanced, students will learn proper guitar technique using classical, acoustic or electric guitar as the instrument of choice.

Students will discover how to learn using their ears, as well as through exposure to proper notated music. Songs will be learned based on the desire of the student in all styles from pop to rock and jazz.

Bringing a unique and versatile music school to the Hamilton region has been a dream of Dave and Mary Tabone's since they first met back in 1987. Dave Tabone, director of the 250 voice B.R. Xpression Vocal Ensemble, and Mary Tabone, Hamilton Education Arts Support Facilitator, bring their passion and knowledge of the music industry to fruition through Tabone Academy of Music.

Dave most recently won the City of Hamilton Arts Award for Education, alongside his past winnings of the prestigious HWCDSB's Distinguished Service Award, Outstanding Music Director at the Heritage Music Festival, and a Hamilton Music Award.

Tabone Academy of Music is a place where beginners + seasoned musicians can come together to enhance their music skills. Hosting a performance venue + stage within the building makes this a unique + unforgettable music experience in the city of Hamilton!

Founder + Piano Instructor David is an award-winning pianist from Hamilton, Ontario. He studied at The University of Western Ontario in the Music Education program. David had the unique opportunity of being the piano player under the direction of Phil Nimmons, outstanding Canadian Jazz Ambassador, in the UWO Jazz Orchestra. He majored in Music Education at The University of Toronto and has successfully been teaching music for 30 years. He is the director and founder of the BR Xpression, an award-winning 250 contemporary vocal ensemble. David continues to change students lives through his passion + unique ability to elevate their talents.
