Sillage Hair Academy caters for those who want to obtain the QCTO accredited certificate – ******: Hairdresser Qualification.
Students attend lectures full-time for 1 year for the knowledge and practical modules.
Students then work in a SARS registered hairdressing salon to complete their workplace practical skills hours experience. This is a two-year apprenticeship under contract.
As an alternative, the student works under contract in a hairdressing salon for 3 years and attends lectures one day weekly, to obtain the required qualification. The learner must complete this course and supply Sillage with a certified copy before the NQF level 4 summative assessment.
Lectures are offered in English for students with matric. If the student does not hold a matric certificate, there is a FLC program available, 88895 Foundation learning certificate – math literacy and English communication.
This qualification is designed to serve as an introduction to the hairdressing industry and provide the student with the basics of hairdressing.
On completion of theory, practice and workplace experience, the learner prepares and applies for the Final Practical Assessment (FPA) & Trade Test. Logbooks for practical and salon hours will need to be maintained.
National Certificate in Hairdressing is offered by EWC (Germiston). The College/ Campuses reserve the right to only offer courses/ programmes that are justified by student numbers, to change the location/ venue of programme offerings and to cancel the programme/s.
