To join us on this course you must have completed our Blowdrying & Hot Styling Tools course or be competent in blowdrying and using hot styling tools and have hair styling product knowledge.
What to Bring
All hairstyling products are provided in class for use during your lessons. You'll receive handouts for each lesson and are should bring a pen and notepad.
The following items can be purchased individually from our Makeup Collective industry store. If you would like to purchase the total kit please pre-order (and pay for) this 4 weeks before your course start date.
Curriculum
At The Makeup School we stress a ‘hands on’ approach to learning. Emphasis is placed on daily demonstrations by our tutors followed by a student practical workshop session.
Students are monitored at the end of each module to check their progress. Final assessment includes both practical and written exams.
This Level 4 program of study will equip learners with the skills and knowledge to begin working commercially in a barbershop.
This is a 42-week full-time qualification which leads to the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support) L3 V1.
Learn how to perform all the skills required to be a fully qualified barber in a growing industry. Taught out of our Wellington Central (Te K?hui Auaha) and Porirua campuses, students will learn clipper and scissor cuts, fades and wet shaving
Training for hairdressers begins with the New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing Salon Support (Level 3) which takes you from complete novice to technical level, capable of earning your place in a successful salon – or qualifying for entry to this New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing.
The New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing Salon Support will give you foundation skills and knowledge of the hairdressing industry. BHB Academy operates from a purpose-built, fully equipped salon that runs commercially for authentic assessment purposes.
