Course Details

There is just something therapeutic and satisfying about working directly with your hands! In this course you will dive into various clay hand building techniques over this 4 week period, that will support you to create your own beautiful and unique sculptures for the home. All materials supplied, so you only need to bring yourself!

 

What will I learn?

  • • Familiarise yourself with the joys of working with clay
  • • Learn the different clay building tools and techniques
  • • Create your own sculptures to take home
  • • Decorating techniques

 

Your fourth class will be used for decorating the pieces you have made. These pieces will later be fired in the kiln, for you to collect at a later stage.

The session will start with a safety briefing and chat about the process, followed by a quick demonstration of throwing a pot on the wheel. You will then get to jump on the wheel yourself and get stuck into centring clay, pulling the walls and shaping your very own ceramic pieces!
