Sammi Dunham began dancing at the age of 5, taking one tap and one ballet class at the Community Center in Lawrence, KS. She soon transferred to the Lawrence Arts Center School of Dance, where she had the opportunity to experience ballet, modern, jazz, and hip hop. Wanting to increase the intensity of her ballet training, she began training at the Kansas City Ballet School in 2017, attending both schools simultaneously. She was a member in Lawrence Ballet Theatre--a pre-professional member company of Regional Dance America, participating in numerous ballet productions as well as having fresh works choreographed on her and the company. While with Lawrence Ballet Theatre she performed roles such as Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Snow Queen in The Kansas Nutcracker, and--the highlight of her 6 years with the company--Giselle in Giselle. After graduating in 2020, Sammi joined Oklahoma City Ballet as a trainee for the 20/21 season with whom she performed as a Flower in Robert Mills’ The Nutcracker, Moyna in the trainee production of excerpts of Giselle, 2nd Act, and the Enchanted Forest Fairy and Diamond Fairy variations from Robert Mills’ Sleeping Beauty in the school showcase. She is so grateful for the opportunity to teach at Everything Goes Dance Studio while returning for a second trainee year with Oklahoma City Ballet. Sammi teaches Intermediate through Advanced Ballet Intensive and Pointe.
